Over the course of a season the money you spend on golf balls can really add up. This is especially true if:
- You’re a little bit disorganized.
- You’re lazy.
- You lose more balls than the average golfer.
Now if all of the above apply to you then you probably go through more money than you realize. I’m going to help with the first two problems…the third I can’t do much about. In this series of posts I’m going to cover a whole range of ways you can buy cheap golf balls, both new and used. I’m going to talk about the different retail options out there and maybe even show you a trick or two that you hadn’t thought of before.
Last Minute Purchases Are A Killer
The first thing I’m going to say is, and I’m sure you know it already, you need to avoid running low on balls and being forced to buy them from the local pro shop. That is the easiest way for you to save yourself some money straight away. I’ve had a couple of people say to me that they like to support their local pro shop by shopping there regularly.
And that’s great – I feel the same way.
But there are better ways you can do this. Margins on golf balls are very low so the shop isn’t making a whole lot of money. A better way to support your local pro shop is to get some lessons – profit margin is 100% on those. This will also help you lose fewer golf balls and in the long run save you some money as well.
